Artist's Description
"Egyptian Dancer" is a hand-painted, embellished reproduction of a limestone ostraca from Egypt, circa 1280 BCE. Papyrus was very expensive and therefore reserved for commissioned works. Artists who wished to express themselves with comics, political cartoons, satires, and in this case, sexy pictures of girls, used bits of limestone or scraps of leftover papyrus.
Reproduced by hand on 7 x 9 inch papyrus in acrylic paint. I antiqued the raw sienna wash slightly and the gold parts are done in an acrylic gold leaf. Every attempt has been made to make sure the colors on your screen match the original, but due to variations on computer displays it may appear differently to you.
About Pet Serrano
Contact through Etsy: http://saganandloki.etsy.com . Petrie Serrano is a New Yorker who came to Georgia by way of South Dakota. She finally settled not far from the Appalachian Trail with her husband, her son, two live cats, several uninvited scorpions-- and a ghost cat named Loki who graciously takes the blame for eating all the fresh cookies. I do not use the email list or contact feature on Pixels.com or Fine Art America. Contact me for originals through Etsy: http://saganandloki.etsy.com or follow Loki on the listed social media sites for new products and general Loki nonsense.
